For me this day should not just be about empowering women to match men in the industries and social conditions they’ve created, but to celebrate who we are as we are and what we want to be.
Women vary in mind, shape, voice and goals. Our backgrounds and life-stories are just as diverse. Even though we are challenging old stereotypes of what women were seen as, sadly even in our vocal, socially liberated ways we’re still judging ourselves by our bodies and looks, maybe moreso than twenty years ago. Woman have to start valuing themselves for their minds, creativity, resourcefulness and fortitude. Less preening more meaning.
